Beverages Holdings LLC, Cincinnati, said it purchased Bossa Nova Beverage Group Inc., the Los Angeles marketer of Bossa Nova refrigerated "superfruit" drinks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Officials said Bossa Nova CEO Alton Johnson will continue leading company management from Los Angeles.

"This opportunity strengthens Bossa Nova's ability to deliver its innovative superfruit beverages to more people by leveraging Beverages Holdings' core competencies of branding, innovation and winning in-store," said Johnson. "We will be positioned to take advantage of our new partner's world class supply chain to both vertically produce and distribute our superfruit beverages with the highest possible quality."

Bossa Nova's refrigerated juices line includes such varieties as acai, acai with blueberry, raspberry, mango or passionfruit. Blended offerings include mangosteen with passionfruit or dragonfruit, acerola with mango or red peach, and goji berry with tart cherry.

Beverages Holdings is the parent to Sunny Delight Beverages Co., Veryfine Co. and The Elations Co. LLC.
