Kangxin (KX) Logistics, Beijing, announced the opening of one of the largest refrigerated food warehouses in the People’s Republic of China. The new Beijing warehouse, which is 130,000 square feet, joins three other KX Logistics refrigerated warehouses in Tianjin, Suzhou and Guangzhou.
Since 2003, when Rich Products Corporation acquired a majority interest in KX Logistics, the third-party logistics (3PL) company has quadrupled the number of refrigerated trucks it owns. KX Logistics now has 100 first-class low-temperature transport vehicles and 100 logistic vehicles, and transports its customers’ products throughout China.
KX Logistics employs about 350 associates at its warehouses and offices in 14 cities across China, serving major multinational corporations including Coca-Cola, Pepsi, YUM!, Nescafe and McCain. KX Logistics offers a unique and broad range of services to its customers ranging from normal temperature, freezing, cold preservation, transport and delivery, low-temperature storage, packing and processing, and liquid jar transport to multi-modal transport.
“There are upwards of 170,000 retail and foodservice locations that need quality cold chain service in more than 40 cities across China,” says Kevin Malchoff, president of International Business for Rich Products. “Rich Products is committed to working with KX Logistics to build a commanding lead in this industry by using the latest technology and offering first-class customer service.”
Part of KX Logistics’ customer service promise involves investing in advanced tracking systems to keep the food being warehoused and transported as fresh as possible.
“KX Logistics’ new Beijing facility is the most sophisticated third-party warehouse in China,” says Jeff Kim, president of Rich’s Asia business, headquartered in Shanghai. “Not only can the new warehouse hold up to 12,000 tons of food and keep the temperature as low as -18.4 Fahrenheit but KX logistics also uses an advanced global positioning system to track every step of the transport and warehousing process for clients.”
