Greensboro, N.C.-based The Fresh Market will be an anchor tenant in a 1.2 million square-foot development set to open next spring in the Boston south shore suburb of Hingham, Mass.

The family-owned, privately held chain, with 78 stores in 18 states in the Southeast, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, plans to open a free-standing 24,000-square-foot building. It will be the company’s first New England store.   

The Fresh Market is a specialty grocer featuring fresh produce, meats, baked goods and prepared foods.
