Kraft lightens up DiGiorno
February 10, 2010
A desire to provide something both light and satisfying is the goal at
Kraft Foods, Northfield, Ill., as the company introduces the new DiGiorno 200 Calorie Portions line.
Responding to a general concern about nutrition and obesity, as well as a trend for healthier snacking, Kraft is rolling out the product line in Pepperoni, Chicken with Peppers & Onions, and Cheese & Tomato varieties.
A print ad supporting the introduction compares plated 200-calorie portions of rice, a half bagel and rice cakes to a rectangular slice of pepperoni pizza and reads, "All the fresh-baked taste you love portioned into 200 calories of perfection."
DiGiorno 200 Calorie Portions joins a growing line of products under the DiGiorno label including rising crust, stuffed crust, flat bread and Ultimate Toppings varieties.
