Accepting the Ruiz Foods Broker

Ruiz Foods,
Dinuba, Calif., has announced the winners of its Broker of the Year
awards. They are, in the West Central Region, Apex Sales &
Marketing, Phoenix; Western Region, Acosta, Portland; Southeast Region,
Advantage Sales & Marketing, Charlotte, N.C.; East Central
Region, Acosta, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Northeast Region, Strategic
Dimensions Inc., Richmond, Va.
Sargento Foods, Plymouth,
Wis., has appointed Bill Schaeffer a director of sales and named
Tiffany O’Day as senior national account sales manager within the food
service division, the company reported. Additionally, the vendor has
appointed Mark Purvis Kroger team leader and named Bryan Suiter as a
Walmart business manager within the consumer products
division.

introducing the Oasis Refrigerated End Cap Display. Designed to
effectively store and present grab-n-go packaged foods, the
space-optimizing fixture includes three adjustable 8-inch-deep shelves
as well as the company’s premium Breeze self-contained slide-out
refrigeration system, which allows easy maintenance
access.
The
Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, Juneau,
Alaska, has chosen Global Trust Certification to perform independent,
third-party certification of the state's fisheries management systems.
Under the system, ASMI stated, each major Alaska fishery will be
assessed for conformance to the United Nations Food and Agriculture
Organization Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries and Guidelines
for Ecolabelling Fishery Products, with Global Trust acting as
certification agent.
San Diego-based
Açai Roots has received an
investment from a Brazilian group that will help it sustain and expand
its operations, it reported. The company produces juices and frozen
pulp from Açai berries, which have become increasingly popular due to
their nutrient properties.
