Orrville, Ohio-based Smith Dairy has announced that its Richmond, Ind., production plant received the Large Business Achievement of Excellence award from the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce. The citation was awarded at the annual chamber of commerce dinner held Jan. 22.
Tropicana, Bradenton, Fla., has launched Juicy Rewards, a first-of-its-kind initiative developed to give consumers more from their juice, the company stated, by offering 20,000 ways to save on fun, healthy pursuits. The rewards program gives consumers a chance to earn savings on everything from Adidas fitness gear to Norwegian Cruise Line vacations.
Employees at Otis Spunkmeyer, San Leandro, Calif., welcomed five wish kids from the Make-A-Wish Foundation to the company’s corporate offices recently for the second annual Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Creation Event. Paired with chefs-for-the-day from the Research and Development Lab, the children worked in teams to bring their own treats to being by pairing Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough with toppings the kids felt epitomized their personal tastes, the company noted.
MaMa Rosa’s, Sidney, Ohio, announced that it has promoted Brent Buriff to vice president of sales for the east region and named Terry Fisher vice president of sales for the west region. Additionally, Mike McCrory was named to the newly created position of vice president of convenience stores, and Calvin Long joined the company as an account manager.
Representatives from the nation’s top grocery stores will head to Las Vegas Feb. 11 to compete in the 2010 National Grocers Association Best Bagger Championship presented by ConAgra Foods, Omaha, Neb. The competition is held as part of the NGA’s annual conference and offers a grand prize of $10,000, ConAgra noted.
