Case-ready beef and pork sales for Tyson Foods, Springdale, Ark., have been especially strong in the southern United States, and that’s prompting production changes. The company said it is shifting some production activity from its Council Bluffs, Iowa, case-ready plant to its facilities in Goodlettsville, Tenn., to better serve markets where demand is high.

After 17 years of producing the SeaWorld Shamu Bar, Wells’ Dairy, Le Mars, Iowa, has inked a deal to provide ice cream and frozen novelties for all 10 SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment locations across the United States. The Shamu Bar is among the products that Wells’ will offer SeaWorld visitors, the ice cream producer stated.

Vancouver, B.C.-based Garden Protein International is building on the trend for healthier snack food by developing a promotion under the name The Big Game in Miami that includes a menu of better-for-you noshes at www.gardein.com/big_game.php. Available recipes include vegetable platters and twice-baked fingerling potatoes but frequently feature Garden Protein’s gardein vegetable-based snack items including its take on tenders and Buffalo wings.
